BRIEFS AND DETAILS:
1. Brief from CUP was to design and produce crc for this volume, and fit into no more than 372pp. The text was typed in from Author’s handwritten ms. All drawings (c. 900) were scanned in at 600dpi, each scan had to be calculated to correct size for publication. Some simple drawings and diagrams were drawn with pen and ink or on-screen. Commissioning Editor: “…a very fine looking volume….”
2. Text provided on disk; design and typeset for ease of use by both teachers and pupils. 1st Edition Received Geographical Association’s Gold Certificate. Also produced up-dated pages of 2nd edition.
3. First Student Scholarship Year Book for new Gates Cambridge Trust. Collect information from each student (via email). Edit text to consistent content, touch up photographs, including colourising several from black and white. Design and typeset, arrange for printing and distribution.
4. From handwritten ms through to design cover and text, and typeset; copy press ready files onto CD (printed in Malta).
