| Please enquire if you would like to commission a work. Although my favourite subjects are natural history and botanical illustration, commissions are welcome in any subject (see "Miscellany Gallery"). With natural history and botanical artwork, I prefer to work in the field, making preliminary sketches on-site, and taking photographs (though with botanical work, I need to have live specimens to bring back to my studio). But I am very happy to produce a work from your own favourite photograph(s), or to bring my digital camera along and take photographs of your chosen subject. I can also offer illuminated lettering, traditional or contemporary styles, including raised (gesso base), or flat gold leaf - a special present for your favourite person. The price of a commissioned work varies and will primarily depend on size, and the cost of media, from, say, £40 for a 5" x 5" plain illuminated letter (on 9" x 9" cotton rag sheet), or £60 for the same size with raised/flat gold, or from £125 for an A4 painting up to, say, £650 for an A2. If a commission is suitable for print production, I will ask that you very kindly allow me to produce 10 limited edition prints, and design and print some cards and postcards. Copyright of a picture remains with the Artist unless specifically assigned to a commissioner in writing. |
